YSRCP has threatened to boycott the rest of the Assembly sessions alleging the partisan behavior of the Speaker towards the Ruling Party. If they were to do that, then they would be playing directly into the hands of the TDP.
For example, the other day when Jagan asked to speak on the ‘Pattiseema project’, the Speaker gave him three minutes. Jagan was shocked. “You expect me to speak only for three minutes on the project and the corruption involved in it? Why give me those three minutes at all? Let the government award the tenders and go ahead,” said Jagan.
It is indeed a bit surprising that in the slanging match that went on in the Assembly, while eight YSRCP members were suspended for inappropriate behavior, not even a single TDP member’s behavior was found fault with.
We have already seen in the Telangana Assembly where there is no representation from the TDP as their legislators have been suspended.
The Congress led by Jana Reddy in the Assembly at best puts up a lukewarm performance. Hence, the ruling TRS is getting away virtually unscathed with no one bringing the issues to the notice of the public.
If Jagan boycotts the Assembly, there will be no Opposition to bring out the other side of issues in AP and Naidu can get away with anything he says.
Although YSRCP feels that justice I not being meted out to them, they would still need to carry on in the better interests of people.
