The opening of a “War Room” in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi headquarters – Telangana Bhavan – in Hyderabad, has kicked up a row.
Though the move was apparently aimed to resolve the key issues of government as well as the party, it has created the impression that the TRS has blindly followed the All India Congress Committee, which also has a War Room in New Delhi.
What has alarmed everybody was the name chosen for it, as it led to the talk that the TRS was heading for a confrontation with the Andhra people. Naturally, it invited wrath from the opposition TDP.
TDP supremo and AP Chief Minister-in-waiting N Chandrababu Naidu is critical on the issue. He accused the TRS of indulging in a false prestige. This is the time for giving drinking water to people and address their problems, but not the war room, Naidu maintained.
He reminded that the AICC’s War Room tactics failed to win the mandate of the people who throw the Congress out of power. The people will not forgive the new government if their grievances are not addressed besides resolving the key issues, he averred.
