There are no two words when we say that the undisputed king of North Andhra has been Congressman Botsa Satyanarayana from a long time.
Equally powerful was his presence in the Andhra Pradesh Congress party.
But today, the same king is becoming witness to the downfall of his empire and the burning of his kingdom. This has given rise to an interesting debate and discussion as to why only Botsa has become the target for public outburst and anger.
The fundamental blunder by Botsa has been his focus only in Vijayanagaram area wherein he has expanded his properties, establishments and business presence.
Generally, most of the corrupt politicians take their black earnings to different regions and concentrate less on their home constituency.
They know that at any given point public mindset might change and strike on them because the truth about their nefarious activities will be uncovered one day.
In Botsa’s case, he has not only pumped all his power and money in Vijayanagaram but made it a family affair by ensuring his key family members get juicy political posts.
It is only a reflection of how a monopolized system works and this has suffocated the locals there.
Today, the situation is such that despite clamping a curfew and threatening to shoot at sight, the people are walking fearlessly and going about damaging the properties and pulling down the empire of Satti Babu.
The man has put a request for additional forces so one can imagine the situation.
Few other factors such as Botsa playing tricks to ensure Telangana forms with the fancy dream of becoming the CM for Seemandhra and his issues with CM Kiran Kumar, the liquor syndicate scam, his wrong statements on the late YSR, the internal politics within Congress camp have enraged the people to a large extent.
As a politician, Botsa may have done favors for his coterie but as a leader, there are many in Vijayanagaram who have been subject to his strong arm tactics and suffered in silence.
But now, the walls have been broken and people are going hysteric at the name of Botsa. They are literally baying for his blood and are not bothered about any police or rapid action force.
The after effects of this public revolution are already being seen in places like Rajahmundry and Kurnool.
Botsa’s allegiance to Sonia Gandhi instead of his people and their sentiments has brought the final nail hit on his head.
While he has no answers to this invasion of his kingdom, it is clear that Botsa be prepared to remain powerless for the rest of his life.
