Uncertainty looms large on Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s much-publicised English daily “Telangana Today” as the launch has been getting delayed for quite some time.
The English daily, which is the sister concern of Namasthe Telangana Telugu daily, which KCR had forcibly acquired from its earlier owner C L Rajam in 2014, was supposed to be launched in June itself. In fact, KCR recruited the editor in December 2015 itself and by April, the entire staff was taken on rolls.
Since then, the management has been paying huge salaries to the staff every month, but the daily has not yet seen the light till date. Even the staff, who are all prepared for the launch, are not able to tell when the daily will hit the stands.
The staff has been producing dummy pages for the last few months, but the actual daily is yet to come out. Initially, the staff used to say that the delay was due to late arrival of the state-of-the-art printing machine, but now, even that has become old news.
May be, KCR is waiting for an auspicious day to launch. When the day is nobody’s guess!
