![Why SCS Is Impossible For AP](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos9/ga_politics1611037702.jpeg)
For Andhra Pradesh to achieve Special Category Status, it needs strong leadership which it has been badly lacking in since the demise of Rajsekhar Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu is caught in a hotbed of corruption vis-à-vis Amaravati and the Revanth Reddy case. If he dares to take on the Centre, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him convicted in those cases and even put behind bars.
On the other hand is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, head of YSRCP. Even Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing the same problem in the ED cases. Therefore, Jagan also might find himself restricted on taking on the Centre in getting special status to AP unless of course, Jagan comes to power in AP and Congress wins at the Centre.
The third contender is Pawan Kalyan who doesn’t have any cadre and party organization structure yet. Besides, with elections due in another couple of years, the Jana Sena founder is still choc-a-bloc with movie assignments. The remaining time in all fairness would not be sufficient for the power star to really make an impact in the 2019 elections.
So, is SCS, as Sujana Chowdary said, ‘A closed chapter’ for AP?
