Even if the TRS were to join the NDA and indulge in one-upmanship against Naidu, the latter would probably have to continue in the NDA for various reasons, primary among them being the new capital region.
Naidu’s plan for the new capital region runs into lakhs of crores and there is absolutely no way that he can realize this vision without assistance from the Center.
By now it is pretty much clear that the BJP is in no mood to accede to Naidu’s request for financial assistance. So far, they have sanctioned an IIM and an AIMS to AP, but that is in line with the overall policy of the Central government to expand those elite institutions to all corners of the country.
So, even if Naidu is not supported financially by the NDA he would need them for the simple reason that the very scale of investments is going to result in allegations of corruption against him and his Party.
And given the fact that the CBI is a political tool in the hands of whichever government is in power at the Center, Naidu cannot afford to get on the wrong side of BJP!
