There has been a talk going on in the social media circles that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, which is symptomized by gradual loss of memory.
Some sections have even started talking that the doctors have diagnosed Naidu as having third stage of Alzheimer’s – because of which he doesn’t remember things and people for long. The reports said Naidu is able to manage the administration by taking strong dose of medicines.
One doesn’t know from where this talk has been generated, but a person suffering from Alzheimer’s disease is mostly confined to bed.
He doesn’t recognize anybody except those who take care of him regularly, like wife and son. And the ability to talk and identify things will also come down gradually.
Moreover, experts say there is no such thing as second stage or third stage in this disease; if a person gets the disease, it is only progressive.
But Naidu doesn’t have any such symptoms. He is mentally and physically very strong and has any information on his fingertips.
He can quote statistics extensively whether it is on GSDP or progress of works in Polavaram etc.
He addresses people, whether it is in assembly or in public meetings with loud voice. And above all, he has the strong mind to work out political strategies using which he could upset the calculations of the YSR Congress party in Kadapa district during the recent MLC polls.
“If he is really suffering from Alzheimer’s, he cannot simply do all these things,” a party leader observed.
The TDP leaders say the campaign could be part of YSR Congress party’s strategy to mislead the public, so that they would think Jaganmohan Reddy would be the right choice compared to a senile and diseased Naidu in the next elections!
