Why is Sai Reddy still talking politics?

Just last week, veteran YSR Congress Party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy announced his resignation from the Rajya Sabha and his decision to quit active politics.

However, he did not immediately resign from the party, choosing to take a week before making his final move.

On Friday, upon YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s return from his London trip, Sai Reddy submitted his resignation from the party’s primary membership and all associated positions.

After stepping down from the Rajya Sabha, Sai Reddy stated that since he was leaving politics, he would refrain from discussing political matters.

He emphasized that his resignation would have no impact on the party, as Jagan remains a strong and popular leader.

However, on Friday, Sai Reddy surprised political observers by tweeting that he strongly hopes Jagan Mohan Reddy will return as Chief Minister in the 2029 elections with a massive majority.

This statement raised eyebrows, as it seemed contradictory to his earlier stance of staying away from politics.

“When he admitted that his resignation from the Rajya Sabha would benefit the Telugu Desam Party or its allies, why is he now expressing hope for Jagan’s return to power? Isn't this a paradox?” an analyst questioned.

Sai Reddy expressed gratitude to those who supported him throughout his political journey and revealed his plans to embark on a new chapter focused on agriculture.

“I want to lead a life free from conflicts and misunderstandings,” he added.
