For the last few days, YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy has been making harsh comments against the Congress party, which is fighting a spirited battle in the upcoming assembly elections in five states including Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.
On Wednesday, Sai Reddy took to X to campaign against the Congress in the assembly election to five states.
“Voting for Congress is voting for instability, policy confusion & corruption. Due to weak CMs presently, all decisions have to go through Congress high command,” he tweeted.
Sai Reddy went on to add that the Congress MLAs break like glass as we saw in Telangana, MP, Goa & Karnataka.
“Voting for Congress is like wasting your vote,” he said, in an open call to the people of these five states.
On Tuesday, too, the YSRC leader was all the more pungent in his attack on the Congress party.
“Mark my words, the Congress party will face a humiliating defeat in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan,” he said.
Stating that the Congress party never works for the poor and downtrodden, Sai Reddy said in the last five years, Rajasthan has seen the worst governance. In Karnataka, people have been suffering since the Congress came to power as all development works have been halted.
“Chhattisgarh government is busy funding the Congress party at the Centre. Under Congress rule, Madhya Pradesh was always a backward state. People of the country are aware of the scams, scandals, and misrule of Congress,” he said.
Sai Reddy added: “Congress has lost the faith of the people. In the most unscientific way, Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated by Congress, and the people will never forgive them. Congress can only dream of coming to power.”
One wonders why Sai Reddy, who was once a hardcore follower of the Congress leadership and former Congress chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in particular, is making such strong comments against the party.
It is a fact that the Congress had given him and his boss – Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy a big trouble when the party was in power at the Centre before 2014. Both of them were implicated in the quid pro quo cases probed by the CBI and they had to be in jail for nearly 16 months, because of the Congress party.
But now, the Congress is no more a force in Andhra Pradesh and it has no hopes of revival in the state. As regards the other states, the YSRC is no force there and so, the Congress is not a competitor to it or vice versa.
Yet, Sai Reddy has been displaying utter contempt towards the Congress. Obviously, it has led to the talk that by campaigning against the Congress, he is trying to get into the good books of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
His comments also led to some trolling on social media.
“Even when YSR was the CM, all decisions had to go through high command. Was YSR weak? Corrupt? How do you think NDA makes decisions? How are decisions made in YSRCP? We all know Sajjala runs the shadow govt. and the ministers are of no use except for press meets and hate speeches,” said one netizen.
Another netizen commented: “Don’t enter trouble water keep way, everyone knows your love for Modi. U better Stay behind the line drawn by u r leader.”
“Every time there is an election you say something similar. And then eat humble pie. The winds are changing and the country will return to the path of progress under Congress again. Wait for December 3rd. Poonakalu Loading!” observed another follower.
