Actress Roja has won as an MLA from the Nagiri constituency in Chittoor district during the 2014 general elections on the YSRCP ticket. Though her political journey began with TDP, it took a new turn after she joined YSRCP.
Despite rumours that she might jump into TDP, Roja has said time and again that she will continue with YSRCP which has given her visibility and enabled her to sit in the Assembly.
However, many are surprised by Roja’s silence in the Assembly. Known for her fiery nature and good oratory skills, many thought she would take on the ruling TDP during the Assembly sessions.
No one from YSRCP including Roja have made any noise till now, barring a few people like Srikanth Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar, Jyothula Nehru and Sridhar Reddy.
Though she appears interested in the proceedings and has been applauding fellow YSRCP members and their party leader Jagan, she has been maintaining stoic silence in the House.
While many want to see her in ‘action’, those in political circles are unable to decipher the reason behind her silence.
