Why is RK gunning for Anagani's head?

The sensational report published by the Andhra Jyothy Telugu daily regarding alleged corrupt activities of a minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet in Andhra Pradesh has caused ripples in state political circles.

Although the report did not explicitly name the minister, social media quickly identified him as Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad.

The report accused the minister of engaging in questionable activities, including land settlements and participating in rave parties.

According to the report, Anagani, serving as a minister for the first time, spends three days a week in Hyderabad, two days in his constituency, and two days in Amaravati.

It further alleged that during weekends, the minister stays in a luxury hotel in Hyderabad, accompanied by an aide who manages key matters.

Important settlements and meetings reportedly take place in the hotel rooms, and the minister is accused of involvement in Telangana land deals and other settlements.

The report also claimed that Telangana government officials have been monitoring these activities and have sent a detailed report to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The report allegedly highlights that the minister's aide wields undue influence over decision-making and the movement of critical files.

While Anagani has not issued a statement, since the report did not name him directly, his followers have expressed outrage. They accused Andhra Jyothy Managing Director Vemuri Radhakrishna of engaging in blackmail politics.

In a social media post, a TDP leader, believed to be a supporter of Anagani, alleged that a few months ago, Radhakrishna (referred to as "RaKi") lobbied the minister to allocate mines-related land in Gudur for the father-in-law of his son.

“When the file was rejected due to rule violations, you resorted to personal attacks against the minister, disregarding journalistic ethics,” the post stated.

The TDP leader questioned whether there was any evidence to support the corruption allegations or prove lapses in the minister’s performance.

He emphasized that Anagani had a successful real estate career before entering politics and achieved success through hard work.

“Except for your publication, no one has accused him of wrongdoing. His integrity is well-known, and even hardcore YSRCP workers cannot speak ill of him,” the leader said.

Describing Anagani as a symbol of honesty and dedication, the TDP leader accused Radhakrishna of amassing wealth illegally and constructing a luxurious palace on 11 acres of illegally acquired land near Shamshabad, where grand events are hosted.

“We will no longer tolerate your baseless articles against TDP leaders. We know how to reduce your newspaper’s circulation. Be cautious,” the TDP leader warned.
