For the past two days, the statements made by Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the currency crisis on account of demonetisation of high-value currency by the Narendra Modi government have been indicating that he is growing impatient with the Prime Minister.
One reason is that the economy of the state has plunged into crisis due to demonetisation and several infrastructure projects have come to grinding halt.
Though Naidu initially appreciated Modi’s decision to abolish 500 and 1000 rupee notes and even claimed credit for the same, he is facing the heat of the people, who are now blaming it on him for the present crisis.
There is a talk that the BJP would get a serious beating in the Uttar Pradesh and Punjab elections and Naidu fears it might also have an impact on the TDP.
That is precisely why the chief minister is expressing his impatience over Modi’s inability to handle the situation even after two weeks.
“I have handled much serious situation like Hudhyd cyclone within eight days. Why was the Centre not able to bring normalcy even after two weeks?” he asked.
There is another reason for Naidu’s impatience. He is upset with the way Modi called KCR and asked his suggestions to overcome the crisis.
What is more, the Prime minister called KCR to Delhi and held discussions in this regard. But not even once, he talked to Naidu.
May be the TDP chief is feeling insecure with the latest bonhomie between KCR and Modi.
