Ex minister JC Diwaker Reddy is trying his best to get into the Rajya Sabha. He spent the whole of Wednesday in garnering the support of 10 MLAs.
Initially, Diwaker Reddy had approached MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, who could not give him a clear indication.
Then, he continued his efforts by approaching the Seemandhra leaders who were dissatisfied with the Congress government and were on the brink of revolting against the party.
Finally, JC managed to get the requisite number of signatures to file his nomination.
If he manages to get the support of another 30 MLAs, he will be in a position to defeat the ruling party or opposition candidate.
Owing to the recent developments in Anantapur and the growing dissatisfaction against the Congress party, it is more or less confirmed that his brother JC Prabhakar Reddy and son Pawan Reddy will be joining the TDP soon.
Even if JC doesn’t join the TDP himself, he will surely support his kin. His brother Prabhakar Reddy will contest for the MP seat and his son Pawan Reddy will contest for the Tadipatri Lok Sabha seat.
That will leave him with the option of retiring from politics.
Hence, he is strategically planning his entry into the RS.
Since he has good financial backup, his entry into the fray as the seventh candidate will stimulate the political scenario in the state and will present the Congress government with a unique situation.
JC is trying to get the support of Congress MLAs who are unhappy with the party owing to the impending bifurcation.
It is a known fact that JC had got a show cause notice from the Congress already. Now, he is trying to make the most of the RS elections!
