Why Don't KCR Follow Naidu Footsteps?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao may consider himself shrewder and more intelligent than his Andhra Pradesh counterpart and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in terms of administration and politicking.

But there is one thing KCR needs to learn from Naidu, if he wants to keep control of the party for long time to come.

During the just concluded orientation programme for the TDP functionaries, Naidu gave grading to his party MLAs depending on their performance and winnability in the next elections.

Each MLA was given a sealed cover with an eight-page booklet detailing their performance, their popularity among the people, their corrupt practices at their respective constituency level, their side businesses and their probable chances of winning.

At the end of the booklet, they were given grading: Grade-A for those who can win easily next time; Grade-B for those who need to work hard; Grade-C for those who have bleak chances of winning now, but can improve later and Grade-D for those who are going to lose.

However, the grading has been kept secret, so that it would demoralise the MLAs who are in lower grades.

KCR also needs to do this type of grading for MLAs, since there are large scale complaints of rampant corruption and irregularities against several of them.

It would give him an understanding as to how the TRS MLAs are bringing disgrace to the party and the government. It would help him cleanse the party. But if he takes the things for granted, he might even face a shocking verdict from the people!
