Criticizing the attitude of TRS government on the Centre’s direction to entrust power of law and order to the Governor, TDP leader Revanth Reddy on Monday said this decision was taken by Sonia Gandhi whom the TRS leaders had described as “goddess” ( Devatha).
Revanth Reddy told media that special powers to the Governor were envisaged in the A P Reorganisation Act itself, and asked why KCR and KK kept quiet when the Bill was passed in Parliament.
“Have they no information that it was mentioned in the bill when it was sent to the Assembly? Why didn’t they question their Goddess?” he asked.
The TDP leader also wanted to know why TRS government was not holding talks with the agitating students who were staging dharna demanding government jobs.
He alleged that the farmers were caned for demanding power while students were beaten up for seeking government jobs.
“Students were described as gods during the Telangana agitation and the TRS government should not forget that it came to power due to their sacrifices,” Revanth said.
