The comment made by Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shan welcoming the attempts of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s attempts to form a federal front took everybody by surprise.
KCR has been saying that the proposed federal front or third front is an alternative to the Congress and the BJP and that the two national parties which had been ruling the state for most part of the last 71 years had failed to address to the basic needs of the people.
Yet, Shah made a positive comment on the proposal of KCR.
“I wholeheartedly welcome the Third Front or Federal Front proposal by the Telangana CM. Everyone has a right to form party alliances, and contest in the elections. In the past, many governments were formed because of alliances only,” he said.
Communist Party of India national secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said there was more to Shah’s statement welcoming KCR’s third front plan that what meets the eye.
“It is very clear that the real agenda behind KCR’s proposal is to benefit the BJP. What KCR is doing is to isolate secular regional parties, so that the BJP will benefit out of it,” Reddy said.
That is precisely why Amit Shah was so soft towards Federal Front.
“It is just a symbol of secret understanding between BJP and TRS,” the CPI leader said.
Any doubt?
