DR. BR Ambedkar University and Potti Sriramulu University both are in Hyderabad and the Telangana government had stopped extending the services of these universities to AP students citing lack of grants from AP government.
Because of this act of Telangana, uncertainty looms large over the fate of students and employees of the AP study centers of these universities.
The matter is now in the High Court and AP has agreed to fund these study centres in return for services being resumed by Telangana.
Nevertheless, AP still contends that despite agreeing to pay its share, the Telangana government’s intentions are dubious.
Our students and employees in AP cannot rely on the Telangana government or its people. If AP is willing to fund these study centers then why pay that money to the Telangana government at all and get poor service in return?
Better, a programme can be worked out where all the existing students and employees can be transferred to one of the universities in AP.
The final exams will be on the syllabus that the students have studied so far. Thereby the government money will go to our own university rather than Telangana and we will not need to depend on hostile and cunning neighbors for the education of our children.
How many times will we keep running to the High Court against them? A lifetime will not be enough! Rather, let us make our lives and governance completely independent of them.
