The arrest of senior TDP leaders K Atchen Naidu and J C Prabhakar Reddy by the Andhra Pradesh police in Employees State Insurance scam and illegal transport scam respectively has created jitters in their party president and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
That was the reason why Naidu had immediately rushed to Guntur from Hyderabad to call on Atchen Naidu in the government hospital, while his son Nara Lokesh rushed to Anantapur to call on the family of J C Prabhakar Reddy.
“The reason is simple: both Naidu and Lokesh were apprehensive that Atchen and Prabhakar might spill the beans about the massive corruption of father-son duo during the interrogation. So, they rushed to Guntur and Anantapur to meet the arrested leaders and pacify them, so that the latter would not disclose their hand in the scams,” YSRC legislator from Nagari and AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) R K Roja said.
She alleged that Naidu and Lokesh were feeling like fish out of water after seeing the arrest of their party colleagues.
“They were fearing that if Atchen and Prabhakar Reddy disclose their involvement in the scam, they would have to go behind the bars,” she said.
Roja refuted the allegations that the YSR Congress party government was acting with vengeance against the TDP leaders.
“It is shameful on their part to say this, as they were caught red-handed indulging in corruption,” she said.
The Nagari MLA wondered how Naidu, who had stayed put in Hyderabad for months in the name of Corona pandemic, had now come to Amaravati in violation of rules.
“It clearly shows the dirty politics of Naidu,” she said.
