Congress has been totally wiped out in Andhra Pradesh. Barring the legislative council and Rajya Sabha, the party has no representative in state assembly and Lok Sabha.
After bifurcation, people voted completely against the party and have made sure that the party will not bounce back in near future.
Naturally, this has resulted in low morale among the Congress cadre as they don’t see the party making any inroads in the coming years.
Usually, the opposition parties create a ruckus when an important issue like new capital comes to discussion in the state assembly. But this time, the TDP has pushed YSRCP into the defense mode.
There are also strong rumours that TDP had a strategy in place to make sure that YSRCP would lose its standing in Guntur and Krishna, if they opposed their decision on Vijayawada.
Had the Congress taken a stand and then it would have resulted in pandemonium in the House. At least, had they been in the House, they would have insisted on a debate before the decision was made.
But given their present situation, they are forced to say that the ‘decision is good, but why such a hurry?’
No matter what they say or feel, there is absolutely no one who is interested in knowing what the Congress leaders feel anymore.
