With passing time, there is an increased interest in the overseas market especially the US. Today, Tollywood box office considers US market as a key component to their collections.
At the same time, there is also a perception that the US audience is class and they welcome only family entertainers.
But that seems to be a wrong theory and here is the best example. Recently, Nani came with the film ‘Aaha Kalyanam’ and reports it has been declared a disaster in USA.
Buzz is that the film has touched just $1400. On the other hand, Nani came with the film ‘Paisa’ before that.
Reports say that film got a whopping $ 47k in just the first weekend. As such, ‘Aaha Kalyanam’ is considered a class movie and ‘Paisa’ a mass movie. Ironically the second movie worked well in the US.
So, the American audience is class is nothing but a myth. If there is an interesting element they will see or else they chuck it.
Since Mahesh Babu’s ‘One-Nenokkadine’ worked there that’s when many said US audience is class but that isn’t so and Nani has proved that.
