Former minister and ex-MP Konathala Ramakrishna from Anakapalle in Visakhpatnam district is said to be in a dilemma to choose his future course of action, as the elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly are fast approaching.
Konathala has go the latest invitation from former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy to join the Congress party along with him, so that they could restore the glory of the party at least to some extent.
Konathala has not given any commitment and told Kiran that he would consider the offer and get back to him later.
Apparently, Konathala is not sure whether the Congress can ever come get back its identity if not coming to power, in the state. That is why he wants some time to analyse the party’s prospects.
Interestingly, Konathala is also learnt to have got an offer from the YSR Congress party.
He was expelled from the party a couple of years ago on disciplinary grounds and he felt insulted with this decision.
Now after coming to know that the Congress has consulted him, the YSRC leadership thought it is better to bring him back into the party and strengthen it in Visakhapatnam. But it is not sure whether Konathala forgets his humiliation and gets back into the YSRC.
The third option before him is Jana Sena Party of Pawan Kalyan. He was part of the Jana Sena think tank on special category status and non-implementation of promises made in AP bifurcation act. So, Pawan is also keen on taking such strong leaders into the party.
And the TDP is also laying trap for Konathala, since he had sent feelers to join the ruling party some time back. It remains to be seen which party Konatahala would prefer in the coming days.
