Some time back, KCR said that he would announce notifications for at least 25,000 jobs in the month of July. This just seems to be a statement made to appease the agitating students.
With only a week left to go, it seems highly unlikely that KCR can stick to his commitment. But the TRS government has already prepared a couple of nice alibis to escape from public wrath.
One of them is that the government was preoccupied with the conduct of the Pushkarams, a prestigious event for it.
But it will be mainly banking on the second reason which is that that it is preoccupied with the financial crisis which has afflicted the state because of the Rs 1,724 crore tax deduction by the Income-tax authorities.
Of course, no tax-deductions will affect Mission Kakatiya or other pet programmes of the government. But students who were at the forefront of the agitation are now being treated shabbily by their own leaders.
Further disillusionment with the government can lead to the students channelizing their frustrations in a negative direction. They are the future of Telangana; they should be given utmost priority. Not Kavitha, KTR or Harish Rao.
