What's Wrong With TDP In Telangana?

The series of debacles being faced by the Telugu Desam Party in Telangana region, the latest being humiliating defeat in Narayankhed Assembly by-elections in which it has lost deposit, has baffled the party leadership.

The party is in total shambles with many of its MLAs and senior leaders joining the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

The TDP leadership – N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh Naidu—are at their wits’ end as to what was going wrong with the party in Telangana. Finally, they could find the reason.

Well, it is not the loss of trust among the voters nor is it because of the leadership failure. The actual reason, according to them, is that there is something wrong with the name: Telangana Telugu Desam Party.

Apparently, astrologers have indicated to Naidu that any prefix before TDP will result in its complete collapse.

For example, Anna Telugu Desam Party founded by Nandamuri Harikrishna and NTR Telugu Desam Party founded by N Lakshmi Parvathi turned out to be miserable failures.

So, it should only be TDP and nothing else: Telangana TDP or Andhra TDP. The naming of TDP unit in Telangana as TTDP has caused big loss to the party.

Now, Naidu is said to be contemplating renaming the TTDP as TDP (Telangana) and TDP (Andhra Pradesh). Let us see, if the suffixes will fetch any benefits to the party.
