It is more or less certain that YSR Congress party MLA from Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district Adinarayana Reddy will jump into the Telugu Desam Party.
Though he has got the green signal from the TDP high command, there is a delay in his entry into the TDP only because of the strong resistance from former MLA and his arch rival Ramasubba Reddy.
And the party high command is trying to persuade Ramasubba Reddy group to patch up with Adinarayana, since it would strengthen the party in Kadapa district.
However, there seems to be more to Adinarayana’s plans to defect into the TDP than what meets the eye.
Sources said the YSR Congress party MLA has taken the decision under pressure from his close relative (“viyyankudu”) Kesava Reddy, chairman of Kesava Reddy group of educational institutions, who is now behind bars for his alleged swindling of deposits collected from students.
Adinarayana is learnt to have requested Chandrababu Naidu to go soft on Kesava Reddy and in return, he would join the TDP and strengthen the party in Kadapa.
Ramasubba Reddy, however, is said to be adamant in resisting Adinarayana entry into the TDP. On Friday, he demanded as to why the YSR Congress party MLA wants to join the TDP.
“It is like a person getting ready for a remarriage without divorcing the first wife,” he commented.
