What's Cooking: JC Meets Kiran

Slowly but surely, an anti-Sonia Gandhi sentiment is gathering momentum in the state.

There is an attempt to bring together all the Congress leaders who are opposed to the division of Andhra Pradesh.

The senior Congress leader from Rayalaseema J C Diwakar Reddy has met the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp office on Tuesday, triggering speculation about the political moves of the Seemandhra lobby.

The Chief Minister has already vowed to fight "till the end" for the cause of integrated state. He and his supporters are keen to defeat the draft Telangana bill in the Assembly.

Diwakar Reddy was the first leader from the state to have demanded resignation of the party president Sonia Gandhi holding responsibility for the party's rout in the Assembly elections in four states.

He is learnt to have discussed the developing political situation with the Chief Minister. They now have a convergence of strategies to send across a strong message to the party high command on the Telangana issue.

Their meeting assumes significance as both the leaders have strongly defied the party's central leadership and are gearing up for a showdown.
