Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu considers himself an authority over Telugu language; for that matter, even in English and Hindi languages.
He tries to attract the attention of the people and media persons with his rhyming words and catchy phrases.
So, when a media person asked him the other day as to what had happened to the special package sought by the Telangana government to the newly formed state, Venkaiah said: “If we give package to Telangana, there will be leakage in it,” indicating that it would lead to corruption in the TRS leaders.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has made fun of Venkaiah’s remarks.
“First of all, what is the package that the Centre has given and where is the leakage in the Telangana government. Venkaiah might think he is speaking very intelligently using rhyming words in the beginning and at the end, but I know better Telugu than him, as I studies Telugu literature. It is better he explains what he had brought to Telangana,” he said.
KCR wondered why Venkaiah had ignored Telangana in the announcement of first list of smart cities on Thursday. “What happened to Telangana? Has it been taken away by crows?” he asked.
