What is going to be Kiran's fate?

What is going to be Kiran's fate?

Now that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy made it amply clear that there is no question of accepting the Congress Working Committee resolution to divide Andhra Pradesh to form Telangana State, the Congress high command has landed in a big dilemma as to what it should do with him.

AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh made it clear on Monday evening that the Chief Minister had no option but to fall in line with the high command’s decision.

However, Kiran put up an adamant posture and even hinted to the Group of Ministers that he would see that the Telangana draft Bill would be defeated in the State assembly.

“Let it come to the Assembly. You will see how it would react to it,” Kiran told media later.

The high command is now left with no option but to sack Kiran.

But it might not find an alternative to lead the party in the State and see that Telangana Bill gets ratified in the assembly.

If Kiran is sacked, the Cabinet gets automatically dissolved and it would be difficult for the new leader to form his own cabinet again.

Otherwise, the Centre will have to impose President’s Rule and in such a case, the Telangana Bill might not get the President’s approval, say sources.
