Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu always tried to project himself in a larger-than-life size image.
He tries to create an impression among the people that he should have actually been in the Prime Ministerial position, but had sacrificed the big post only for the sake of the state.
Speaking at the India Today conclave in Chennai, too, Naidu made a similar claim.
“I could have become the Prime Minister had I really wanted to. But I sacrificed the post twice – once for H D Deve Gowda and next time for I K Gujral. At that time, my whole focus was on developing Andhra Pradesh and make it no. 1 state in the country.
Even now, if I get a chance to become the Prime Minister, I would reject it because development of the state is on top of my agenda,” he said.
Well, if there are people who are listening to him, Naidu can go to any extent to put flowers in their ears. But he has no answer why he had failed to develop the state during his nine-year regime in the past and the two-year regime now.
If he is of Prime Minister’s material, why did people reject him twice in 2004 and 2009? Only Naidu can make such tall claims.
