Well done, Parrikar and India

Well done, Parrikar and India

For the first time in its history, India carried out a military operation on foreign soil and killed 38 terrorists belonging to NSCN (K) and NYKL.

The operation was carried out in Burma (Myanmar) and 70 Indian commandoes armed with sophisticated weapons participated in it.

The terrorists were responsible for the deadly ambush in the north-east in India on army forces which left 18 Indian army soldiers dead and 11 severely injured. They fled to Myanmar after the ambush. In the past, the Indian government would have cried foul and lodged a protest. Not this time though!

A decision was taken to flush out the terror elements even though they were hiding on foreign soil and the crack team of commandoes was pressed into service. This operation gives a strong signal to the rest of the world that India will not refrain from surgical strikes against countries harboring terrorists against the nation’s interests.

Needless to say, such an operation could not have been carried out without political approval at the highest level.  Narendra Modi, defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and India need to be congratulated.
