At a meeting in Raj Bhavan, Chandrababu and KCR reached a temporary accord over sharing of Nagarjuna Sagar water.
According to the agreement, Andhra Pradesh will get 7,000 cusecs daily for three days starting from Saturday, 5,500 cusecs for 15 days after that, and 4000 cusecs of water from Nagarjunasagar till March 31.
Telangana also agreed for joint control along with Andhra Pradesh officials to monitor the water release from the dam.
Tension in the air was palpable as Chandrababu and KCR arrived for their meet at Raj Bhavan following the incident at Sagar when officials and cops on both sides came to blows. However, Chandrababu prevented the situation from getting out of hand by taking the initiative and calling up KCR.
Setting up the meeting at the Governor’s residence, Chandrababu also ensured that a compromise formula was arrived at thereby protecting the interests of the farmers from AP.
This is one instance where Chandrababu has definitely behaved in a responsible manner and proved himself to be a capable man! If only he shows this approach in all issues pertaining to AP.
