We have secret strategy to stall bifurcation

After failing to convince the Congress high command about the perils of dividing Andhra Pradesh, the Seemandhra leaders are now trying to keep up false hopes among the people.

Despite knowing fully well that the bifurcation is now inevitable and the process irrevocable, the Congress leaders from Seemandhra are coming up with weird ideas to spread a false impression that the division process can be halted.

Participating in a "Meet the Press" programme in Hyderabad on Sunday, the Rajahmundry MP Vundavelli Arun Kumar has said they have a "secret strategy" up their sleeves to ensure that the state is divided.

However, he declined to disclose what exactly is the strategy.

"We need not reveal all the cards before the media. We can disclose some moves and we need not disclose others. But, rest assured, we have a secret strategy in this regard," the MP said.

He asserted that the state's division will not happen till the next general elections, scheduled in April/May, 2014.

However, one does not know the basis of his confidence. Vundavelli also said that the Telangana Bill will not come up before the Parliament in the coming winter sessions.

The Seemandhra Congress lobby has not disclosed its strategy to stall the Bill in the parliament. A delegation of Seemandhra Congress leaders, including MPs, would meet the President Pranab Mukherjee, in Delhi on Wednesday as part of their efforts to halt the splitting of the state, he said.

The MP said that their resignations from the Parliament would not serve any purpose and such a move would not lead to the collapse of the central government.

"Even now, our government at the Centre does not have majority. Since no other party is prepared to face snap polls, there is no threat to the government and it will last its full term," he said.
