Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Monday castigated Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar for trying to attribute political motives to President Pranab Mukherjee in connection with the Telangana issue.
Senior TRS leader B Vinod Kumar lashed out at the Congress MP for dragging the name of the President of India in the Telangana issue and attributing motives to him and his office.
As constitutional head of the country, the President functions and acts in a non-partisan manner and hence attributing motives to him is ridiculous:, the TRS leader observed.
Vinod further reminded that Pranab Mukherjee, as senior leader of the Congress in the past, has ample knowledge about the Telangana issue and in fact he had in fact played a pivotal role in bringing about an alliance between the Congress TRS during 2004 elections, he observed and added that the Seemandhra leaders should first study and understand the constitution before making any comments on others.
