Voting in Cities Are Less Compared To Rural Areas

With close to 80% voting, Seemandhra/Andhra Pradesh voters have done a splendid job. More than 10 lakhs people from Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore have travelled all the way to their native places to cast their votes.

Across the Seemandhra districts, Vishakhapatnam recorded the lowest turnout with 70.57 percent. In 2009, Vizag was able to get 72.09 percent and the district is not able to cross the mark this year.

According to the election commissioner, 20,62,192 out of 35,48,870 voters have casted their votes. Out of 16,70,727 male voters, 10,22,697 casted their votes and 10,38,656 out of 16,75,687 female voters have turned up to vote. YSRCP and TDP will have a close contest in this place and looks like the Vizag people haven't responded well to the campaign carried out by the election commission.

It's the same with cities like Tirupathi, Vijayawada and Kurnool as they haven’t crossed the 60 % mark. Totally, the people across the rural areas seem to be more responsible when compared to the people in the cities.

Let us wait and see which party will have an edge in these cities.
