Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao is all set to face disciplinary action for his utterances against AICC in-charge of Telangana affair Manickam Tagore.
According to party sources, the high command on Saturday called for media clippings and videos of VH’s comments opposing the proposed appointment of Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy as the new PCC chief in place for N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Apart from accusing Revanth Reddy of being an RSS man and anti-Telangana, VH also lashed out at Manickam Tagore, saying that the latter had been sold out to Revanth Reddy and had fed wrong information to the high command.
He also took a dig at the high command, without naming Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, saying that he was not being given appointment despite his hectic efforts since 2018.
“The party’s position is pretty bad and it is not a position to take right decisions,” he said.
The AICC is learnt to have decided to serve a show-cause notice to VH, before initiating any disciplinary action.
In any case, VH appears to be mentally prepared to leave the Congress party with which he had been associated for a long time.
