Popular television news anchor Parvathaneni Venkata Krishna is learnt to have called it quits to ABN-Andhra Jyothy television news channel at last, for reasons known to him.
It is not immediately known whether he has been asked to quit or he has resigned on his own for better prospects, but sources said he has put in his papers and is presently in the notice period.
Sources said Venkata Krishna is said to be planning his own digital channel, apparently with the support of some bigwigs in the Telugu Desam Party. The confirmation of this news is still awaited.
Venkata Krishna, known for his aggressive posture and blatant pro-Telugu Desam Party stand obviously due to his caste links, joined ABN-Andhra Jyothy in April 2020, after he was removed from the post of director and editor-in-chief of news channel AP 24X7, following differences with the management.
But within a year, there were allegations against him that he was indulging in corrupt activities and blackmailing journalism.
There were also reports that the ABN-Andhra Jyothy management was not happy with the way he has been conducting the debates in the last few months.
Subsequently, it was learnt the channel management caught him red-handed and showed him the exit door. But somehow, he managed to stay back and continue in the post of executive director till now.
