Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday admitted that injustice was meted out to Seemandhra region due to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Venkaiah told media persons that his party, which had promised a new State for Telangana region, had kept its word by supporting Telangana Bill in Parliament, but the ruling Congress party had not done justice to the people of the Seemandhra region.
“We tried to secure the best possible package for Seemandhra, but could not ensure complete justice,” he said.
He asked Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad need not have fear or apprehensions.
He alleged that the Congress has deceived the Seemandhra people as leaders belonging to the region lacked transparency and knowledge at the time of bifurcation.
Venkaiah said as Andhra Pradesh had been bifurcated into two States, the peoples of both the States should concentrate and compete with each other in development of their respective regions.
The BJP leader said all those living in Hyderabad should not be afraid of anything as it is the capital city.
Responding to a query, the BJP leader said people will decide whom should be given credit for formation of Telangana State and who has the capacity and efficiency to develop the two Telugu-speaking States.
