USA: Why Only Telugu Employees Lost Jobs at Apple?

Several Telugu employees working at Apple in the Bay Area have reportedly lost their jobs.

Sources suggest that around 185 employees were affected. But why were only Telugus targeted? Well, this is not something related to cost-cutting layoffs.

Some Telugu associations in the USA reportedly misused Apple’s Matching Grants program. These organizations asked Telugu employees at Apple to donate to their nonprofit groups.

Apple, as part of its corporate social responsibility, matched the donations made by employees to the same nonprifit organizations.

However, investigations revealed that the funds donated by employees were being funneled back to them, and the entire scheme was designed to deceive Apple and extract money through matching grants for organizing biannual events.

Apple's Finance Department noticed irregularities and reported the matter to the IRS. Upon investigation, the IRS uncovered the fraudulent activities.

Following this, Apple reportedly asked the employees involved to either resign on grounds of compromised integrity or face termination.

As a result, approximately 185 Telugu employees from Senior Manager cadre to the entry level executives, were let go from Apple in the Bay Area alone.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the integrity of some Telugu associations in the USA.
