![Uma's Shameless Politics!](https://www.greatandhra.com/newphotos9/ga_politics1611037702.jpeg)
Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao is always in the news for the wrong reasons.
Foul language in the Assembly, his son taking out illegal bike rallies and scaring the public, insulting government officials etc…the list is endless.
Now Uma was strongly hoping for a place in the cabinet and was understandably upset when Naidu did not accommodate him.
Television channels aired visuals of TDP MLAs and MPs trying to console Uma who was speaking on the phone to somebody.
Uma can be heard saying Nenu rajeenama chestanu (I will resign) and Kapula gonthu kosaru which contextually means Kapus have been backstabbed.
First of all, how can denying Uma a cabinet post mean that Kapus have been cheated. And by no stretch of the imagination can Uma consider himself to be a representative of the Kapus. This is just a shameless manner of using the caste card for one’s own personal benefits.
Similar was the case with another Kapu politician Jyothula Nehru who defected to the TDP from YSRCP. Interestingly, Uma got a phone call from Chandrababu soon after the visuals were aired.
Here is what ABN reported: Chandrababu asked Bonda Uma not to take any hasty step and said he had a bright future in the party. He told Uma that posts and positions can be had in the future.
Now, here is what HMTV reported: “How can you make caste-based comments? There are many seniors in the Party who could not be accommodated. Are they all speaking in a similar fashion? I know everyone’s history.”
Which is the correct version is a decision best left to the readers.
