With the death of Sunanda Pushkar being termed a murder, there is a huge clamor now for her husband, Shashi Tharoor to quit from the Lok Sabha as MP.
Shashi Tharoor is a Congressman who has been in the news recently for his endorsement of Narendra Modi’s policies such as ‘Swacch Bharat’ etc, for which he was dropped as the official spokesperson of the Congress Party.
Another person who endorsed Modi as Prime Ministerial choice on the eve of the elections was Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Interestingly, Shashi Tharoor’s support for Modi started after the death of his wife whereas Salman praised Modi just on the eve of elections.
Salman is facing trial in the infamous hit and run case in which he is accused of driving his vehicle in an inebriated condition and running over pavement dwellers.
The point is that both these people started supporting Modi after it became a foregone conclusion that Modi was going to become the Prime Minister of the country.
Did they expect the law to go easy on them after their friendship with Modi? It is a possibility that can’t be ruled out.
