Officially, the Telangana transport department has banned the taxi-service provider 'Uber' last month.
However ‘Uber’ still continues to operate freely in Hyderabad without any problems at all.
Unlike other taxi provider services, ‘Uber’ taxis do not carry a logo on them.
When questioned on how ‘Uber’ is being allowed to operate in the city, the ‘Transport Department’ of Telangana said that it was the responsibility of the traffic police to seize ‘Uber Cabs’.
What is strange is that the ‘Traffic Police Department’ is unaware of a ban on ‘Uber’.
“We have not received any formal communication from the transport department that ‘Uber’ should not be allowed to ply or a request for seizing the Uber cabs operating in the city,” said the traffic police.
They further added that the first step the transport department should take is to block the app of Uber.
“Bookings are being done through the Uber app. Why don’t they block it first?” question the traffic police. As the blame game continues, let us hope that one more unfortunate woman does not fall victim in the meantime!
