The presence of media has become quite rampant over the past few years in our country and they have become a strong arm in the way the whole system is working. And right now it is heard that even the rough and tough private bus owners are also facing the music from a section of media.
From the last few days, few TV channels are fighting on behalf of the victims of bus accidents and are projecting the atrocities of the private bus services in a big way. As a result, the authorities are taking action and shutting the licenses of the travels. The government is seizing the vehicles as well.
TV channels are doing great job upto that and even public is appreciating.
But here is the inside story. Looking at this phenomenon, some popular bus services were approached by some TV channels and they are being blackmailed.
The channel folks are directly demanding “Give us money or else we will create special programs on you in a negative way that will wipe out your business.” They are demanding up to Rs. 10 crores.
The travel operators are crying “Many TV channels are there, if we pay one or two channels all will come and loot us, what will be our situation?”
