The MLC seats tally of ruling TRS in the ongoing MLC elections under local bodies quota has been increasing day by day. The party already won 6 out of 12 MLC seats, even before the scheduled polling on December 27.
On Saturday, the TRS won two more MLC seats unanimously in Karimnagar district as two independent candidates withdrew their nominations.
Finance minister Etela Rajender sprung into action to make the election unanimous by making rivals to withdraw their nominations in favour of TRS.
Similarly, in Nizamabad, the TRS won lone MLC seat after rival canddiates withdraw their nominations.
The "Operation Aakarsh" being adopted by TRS leaders to lure leaders of other parties into their party is fetching good dividends for TRS while leaving all the Opposition parties in Telangana shell-shocked.
All the MPTCs, ZPTCs, Sarpanches of Opposition parties in Telangana are making a beeline to join TRS. Even the contestants from Opposition parties like TDP, Congress are withdrawing their nominations without consulting their party leaderships in favour of TRS.
The 'one-side war' has made elections insignficant in Telangana.
TRS is confident of bagging the remaining 6 MLC seats too where polling is required as it is already holding 'camp politics' in Goa, Hyderabad, Kerala etc wherein local body representatives of rival parties are camped till polling day to ensure votes for TRS by offering cash and kind to them.
