TRS Lost Hopes On Joining NDA?

It looks like Telangana Rashtra Samithi has lost hopes of forging alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and joining the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.

It was evident from the way TRS MP from Nizamabad Kavitha lashed out at Narendra Modi on Monday for allegedly neglecting Telangana.

A couple of days ago, too, her brother K T Rama Rao made a similar comment against the Modi government.

Kavitha said the TRS MPs would raise the issue of High Court bifurcation in Parliament winter session commencing on July 21.

She alleged that Narendra Modi was insensitive to Telangana issues and not acting swiftly on bifurcation of the High Court and officials.

“If the Centre wants to continue alliance with the Telugu Desam party, the BJP would lose support from Telangana people,” she said.

She attributed the alliance between Telugu Desam and BJP Government at the Centre to the prevailing situation in Telangana State.

Till the other day, Kavitha had been showering praises on Modi. She even met the Prime Minister in Delhi several times and posed for selfies with him.

Her father and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, too, was all praise for Modi several times and even emulated Modi’s programmes like Swachh Bharat in Telangana.

Apparently, the TRS leadership was hopeful of joining the NDA after the GHMC polls and secure a berth for Kavitha in the Modi cabinet.

But, they have now realized that Modi is not very keen on admitting TRS into the NDA, leave alone taking Kavitha into the cabinet. Hence, the changed political strategy.
