With Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram getting unusual response from the people for his tours in villages, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders have stepped up attack on him personally.
While irrigation minister T Harish Rao described Kodanda as a “pseudo intellectual” who is out to stall the irrigation projects of Telangana, TRS MP from Peddapalli Balka Suman described the professor as “Kodand Wrong” and a spokesperson of the Congress party whose sole objective is to undo the good work being done by the TRS government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The minister said these pseudo intellectuals were obstructing the ongoing irrigation projects in the state by approaching courts and other means.
He wondered if they had collided with the anti-government forces in the state. He was reacting to Kodanda’s comment that the Palamuru Ranga Reddy project would harm the interests of Mahbubnagar farmers.
“It is a false propaganda by the Opposition political parties and so-called intellectuals like Kodandaram,” he said.
On the other hand, Suman attacked Kodandaram for telling the people that the Mallannasagar dam was in seismic zone and might cause earthquakes in the coming years.
“His sole intention is to stall the projects by creating a fear psychosis among the people, so that the TRS would not get any political benefits,” the MP said.
