The TRS government on Saturday made it clear that it would not accept the Centre's dictate of handing over the Law and Order powers of Greater Hyderabad to the Governor.
Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma here on Saturday expressed serious discontent to the Centre on the issue. In a reply to the Centre, the State Government seriously responded in strong words that the Centre’s letter giving powers to the Governor is intervention in State affairs and unconstitutional.
At the directive of the CM, Rajiv Sharma, who called on ESL Narasimhan and closeted with him for some time, later in the letter expressed his helplessness that it is not possible to hand over powers to Governor as the very act is against the spirit of the Constitution.
“We will not implement the proposal of the letter and the Governor with all humility has to approve what the State Cabinet decides with regard to governance”, he maintained.
The TS Government will not tolerate the seizure of its rights as it complies with all standards of the Constitution, he said.
Rajiv Sharma also maintained that the Centre has to give equal powers to all States and 29th state has every right on the law and order and everything pertaining to the State affairs, he said.
