The merger of Telangana Rashtra Samithi with the Congress party has more or less been formalized, if one were to go by the statement of AICC in-charge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh.
Digvijay told media in New Delhi on Tuesday evening that the process of TRS merger with the Congress had been finalized and discussions were on with regard to sharing of seats.
He, however, did not elaborate whether there would be an outright merger or it would be confined to seat sharing first, followed by merger.
There is a talk that KCR was offered with the Chief Minister post in the Telangana State, if he agreed to merge the party.
The Congress high command had also reportedly agreed to take care of the interests of KCR’s family members and his close associates after the merger. However, the fate of thousands of party workers is not known after the merger.
