Credibility is a very important thing in politics and actions speak louder than words. Putting up a few tweets and then remaining silent seems to be the hallmark of Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan.
When farmers were protesting the land acquisition in the new capital region, his visit gave the farmers there tremendous hope. Pawan too promised the farmers there that he would not tolerate any forcible acquisition of land by the government.
Having said that, he came back to his reclusive life even as the government went about its job of land acquisition in an autocratic fashion.
Now, the film star has recently spoken in support of those opposed to bauxite mining in the agency area.
Pawan said that bauxite mining should be done without hurting the interests of the tribals. This was exactly what he said during the farmers’ protests against land acquisition. So, this means that he is not going to do anything for the tribals either.
Is it any wonder then that Paderu MLA, G Eshwari spoke out vehemently against Pawan Kalyan? “He promised to stand by the farmers of Amaravathi and did nothing for them. Why will we believe him when he promises to support us,” she said.
And that my friends, is the credibility factor!
