It appears some of the top bureaucrats and IPS officers have sensed the defeat for ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the upcoming assembly elections to be held in December. And they got it confirmed from the field level reports they have obtained.
A couple of days ago, some senior IAS and IPS officers had a meeting with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and given him some suggestions and planning for the ensuing elections.
Some of the names of these officers include special chief secretary B R Meena, senior IAS officer Shiva Kumar and IPS officers Krishna Prasad and Stephen Ravindra, who are said to be in regular touch with the Congress leaders.
Very recently, another senior bureaucrat Akunuri Murali attended a meeting convened by Telangana Joint Action Committee to release a book pointing out the irregularities in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.
Apparently, these officers are peeved at the way KCR was suppressing upright officers and promoting only those who were toeing his line.
A retired IAS officer, who has now been playing an advisory role for the chief minister, is said to be the reason for the revolt from several senior bureaucrats and cops.
Some of these IAS and IPS officers also wrote a letter to chief secretary S K Joshi expressing their discontent over the injustice meted out to them in promotions and postings.
What is worse, these officers are upset with the inaccessibility of the chief minister, who had never given them appointment to listen to their grievances.
“Only a section of upper caste bureaucrats are ruling the roost in the CMO and this has resulted in unhealthy trend in bureaucracy,” an official said.
