Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu has urged the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to finalise a place to develop the capital city.
He opined that though it was decided prior to bifurcation that Hyderabad would be the joint capital for a decade, it would be better if the AP government came up with an appropriate location and started the development process.
Venkaiah said that he can seek support and funds from the Central government only after the AP government makes a final decision on the capital city.
He suggested that the Andhra Pradesh government should get started with the development activity and shift base to the new capital much before the 10-year deadline.
