At a time when Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken it as a prestigious issue to checkmate YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the latter’s home turf Kadapa, the TDP leaders in the district are dampening his spirits by indulging in group politics.
If it is a big fight between minister C Adinarayana Reddy and P Ramasubba Reddy in Jammalamadugu constituency, Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh is in a bitter war with former MLA G Varadarajulu Reddy in Proddatur.
The infighting was glaringly visible during the recent visit of Naidu in Kadapa district as part of Nava Nirmana Deeksha.
On Saturday, Varadarajulu Reddy made serious comments against C M Ramesh alleging that the latter was ruining the TDP in Kadapa district. He said Ramesh was actually an agent of Jaganmohan Reddy and had been in regular touch with the latter.
“Both of them have business relations,” he said.
Accusing Ramesh of demanding commission in irrigation works in the district, Reddy said the former had no capacity to win direct elections.
“He is bigger than sarpanch, lesser than a mandal parishad member. He became Rajya Sabha member twice only with the support of Chandrababu Naidu,” Reddy said.
He alleged that Ramesh, who came from a faction background, was indulging in group politics in the district.
“Because of him, the TDP is not able to win even safe seats,” Reddy regretted.
